To sum up: A Monitor Drake is a haemonculi construct created by a dragon's 'filthy magic' to spy or follow someone. It's a piece of a powerful dragon that it sheds and controls to 'monitor' someone or something. Ydriss has a monitor drake and doesn't seem to be honoured by it.
